Welcome back to my preaching again... =D
Yesterday I was having my church cluster event. I found something interesting during the sharing. What is it? It is the tithes. What is it about? Basically, most of christians will give offerings and things like that in terms of money. It is said in Deuteronomy 14:22. So if gonna read that, you'll get to understand more about tithes in the old testament. Then in Leviticus 27:30, it also talks about tithes. It says that that belongs to the God and it is holy in God's eyes. Then in the last book of old testament, Malachi 3, It mentions about Robbing God. Erm.. interesting. In fact, today's topic about tithes, i'm still not sure. Still do not understand fully. Probably after i understand fully then i put all i need in this blog. =D.
Next is the peaching from Senior pastor of my church. He talked about preparing for purposeful 2007. There are 3 things that we should look at. Firstly is Stewardship. We should optimize our time. Like what the bible says in Ecclesiates 3:1. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Seizing opportunities also very important because it comes and goes away. We have to anticipate it coming and grab it before it leaves. In Ephesians 5:15-17, talks about opportunities. Handling possessions also another important point in stewardship. How we make use of our possessions is very important too. Remember this phrase? We reap what we sow. For those who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. In 2 Corinthians 9, it says that. But more importantly is the attitude when we sow. God loves cheerful giver. We must give willingly not because God tells us that it is a must. And we must be able to optimize time and seizing opportunities in order prove ourselves worthy of handling more possessions. God will not give greater responsibilities to those who didn't prove himself worthy. That what is said in Matthew 25:14-30. The parable of the talents. Secondly, it is the relationship we should look at. Only deepening commitment, edifying saints and family and connecting with the community then we are able to have a better relationship. relationship don't just happened like that. We have to commit then we'll have better relationship. In Exodus 33:13, Moses actually wanted to have a better relationship with God. So through this, we can know that a clap needs 2 hands not just 1. To deepen a relationship also need both parties. Thirdly, Its discipleship. What goals to achieve for spiritual groth? what are the improvement needed for career changes? How about preparation for life changes? These are the things i've learnt on Sunday. Not bad. This blog is like a reminder for me. A reminder for the things i've learnt. I find it important for me to note down all the things i've learnt. Its true that our brain is very powerful but we need something to remind us of the things we learnt. So i guess today's points help some people out there. May God bless you all.
