Today is a cooling day. Raining all day long. Started off very well cuz i managed to wake up on time for lessons. And got to thank to that dream of mine which scared me out of my bed. i don't wanna mention it. But if you guys wanna know, find out from those friends of mine who knows it. This teaching is quite simple and short. Basically, it just a summarised commandment.
So what is the greatest commandment of all? Who knows it? The answer is "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind". This is the greatest commandment of all. It can be found in Matthew 22:37 and also in Deuteronomy 6:5. What is it about? This commandment reminds us to put God first. Love the Lord your God. When you love someone, you will try to spend some time to know that person, understand that person. So it also tells us that by knowing God as God is not enough. We must spend time with Him. In a relationship, there must be 2-way contributions and communication. Since God has been giving, we should also do our part to give, to spend time with Him by reading bible, praying. When the bible talks about Love your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind, it is talking about we must be willing, we must be committed. God has loved us so much. We too must love Him. In John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". So do spend time with Him.
Next is the commandment that follows after the greatest commandment. "Love your neighbour as yourself" What does this mean? Answer these question first. Do you love yourself? How do you love yourself? Do you always put yourself before others? Normally people will love themselves more than they love others. They most likely will put themselves before others. Now is about time to put others before self. Treat others like how you treat yourself. In the verse, neighbour doesn't refer to your neighbour literally. It refers to your family, friends, foe, brothers, sisters, people around you, strangers. So doesn't mean that you must know that person to care for him/her. Basically its to tell you that others before self.
To sum up, we should always put God first then others and lastly self. In order to love others, we must love God. To love ourselves, we must love others. And this sequence should never be changed. So bare this in mind, this is the basic we should all know. And exams are coming for those in poly, may God bless you all and be with you throughout the exam period. Take care and have a good rest.
