Today's Sunday peaching is about "Finishing Well - Clarify the Win". Let us look at Philippians 3:10-14...I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Not that i have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
And Also Colossians 1:28-29...We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.
In this topic, we will know what should we become. In those verses, it says that to be matured in spiritual way. How? It is to be more like Jesus. Jesus will be our role model to follow. How to be more like Jesus? It is to know Jesus. Know his heart. Know his way. One of his heart is to have a heart of servant. In order to be achieve greater, be humble at heart.
To be more like Jesus, we have get close to him too. How to do that? It is to sychronise with his heartbeat. This means that we have to harmonise with God's purpose, enquire his times and seasons(eccl 3 - "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heaven"), reject the tyranny of the urgent(Prioritise) and overcome distractions around you.
Some important things on God's heart is that He wants all men to be saved (1 Tim 2:2), Love His family members deeply(John 13:34-35) and Relating to Him passionately(Phil 3:14)
Once again, it is a tough issue to change ourselves. Why? Because we still do not know Jesus in out and the way Jesus do things and everything is totally different from what we are now. Always remember, Don't just say you will try. Don't do all this lip service. God knows your heart. You have to desire to be more like Jesus and pray to have to strength to do it from God. Then you will be able to do it.
